Happy two months little one!
You've gotten so big! You weighed in at 10 lbs, 1 oz at your two month check up and have grown to 22 inches! We can't weigh you on the food scale at home anymore, because you've maxed out the weight limit on the scale :-)
You have started to show a lot more personality these days. You're awake more often and want to play a few times a day. You like your playmat gym (even tummy time) and think it's funny when mama or daddy talks to you. You can lift up your head pretty well and raise your legs at the same time! You've started smiling in response to us talking to you, which cracks us up! You also coo more and make funny baby talk noises. Your favorite is "ga" which mama likes to tease you about because it means chicken in Vietnamese. Mama keeps asking you whether you'd like some chicken or where that silly Vietnamese chicken went to?!
You also like to take baths - while you'll shiver and screech when we take you out of the water, you're happy to hang out in there as long as we keep pouring warm water over you.
You also don't mind going places with mama. We go to mama's mommy group get togethers about once a week and you are always happy to sleep in your car seat or hang out with the other babies. You also go on a lot of walks with mama, daddy, and Kala. Kala gets excited when she sees us putting you in the jogging stroller because she knows that she is going for a walk!
For our first Mother's Day together, the whole family went to a winery in Leesburg and had a picnic on the grass. You didn't seem to mind the winery crowds much and napped the whole time. Later, we just hung out in our PJs at home and had a relaxing day!
This week you went to the doctor for your two-month check up and got your first vaccinations - which you were NOT happy about. You were upset that day and didn't want to eat or do anything but sleep on mama or daddy. You seemed happier the next day though, and were back to your normal smiley, hungry self.
You still wake up every 3 hours, on the dot (pun intended), to eat. You sleep with mama in the guest room in your bassinet - which sometimes you don't mind, and other times makes you fussy. We are still swaddling you - and you seem to like a cozy swaddle best while you're sleeping. Otherwise your hands will fly around and wake you up. Daddy hangs out with you from about 9 pm until 2 am, so that mama can sleep a bit, because you are pretty unpredictable with waking up from 2 am until 8 am.
You are still eating about 8, 3 oz bottles of milk a day. Sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. You like to hold the bottle with your hands. When you are done - you will slap it out of mama's hands - often to the floor!
