You're ONE YEAR OLD!!!! We can't believe it's been a year - and you're so happy and healthy. Mama and Daddy have patted themselves on the back for keeping you alive for a year, and hopefully we've even done a little better than that. You had an awesome photo shoot for your first birthday -- mama will do a separate post for that, but here are a couple that mama took on your actual birthday :-)
You are such a happy baby, and have been such a delight to watch grow. We cannot believe that you have grown from 5 pounds, 9 oz, into a big 23 pound, 5 oz girl! You are 30.75 inches tal1, which makes you above the 90th percentile for both weight and height! You're already starting to bust out of your 12 month clothes, and the 18 month fit you comfortably.
You've been working on all kind of physical skills lately. You love to pull up on everything lately and will let go of things to see if you can balance and stand on your own. You are finally crawling both backward AND forward. You love to try to sneak up to Kala to pet her, but then are a little to shy to pet her. She's bigger than you, after all. We think you are on the verge of talking. You like to say "haiiiiiii" and wave at everyone. You'll also give mama a kiss if I ask for one. You also mimic sounds really well and will copy us if we say mama or dada or bop bop and so on. You are very talkative and can clear a room with some shrieks.
You still LOVE your stuffed animals and want to have your koala or your otter near you at all times. You will grab one away from mama if you see her holding one. Along with your stuffy, you like to suck your thumb while you are sleeping and sometimes pull on your hair. We think the softness relaxes you while you're falling asleep. You are still a good sleeper, and will sleep overnight and take a couple of naps a day. You will be heading to daycare soon though, so you will have to adapt to sleeping a little bit less.
This month was a fun one for you. You got to enjoy some late season snow, got a library card, and got to try some delicious food!

We love you so much, and you bring so much joy to our lives. We can't wait to see what the next year brings! Mama will write you another blog post in a few months. Maybe by then, you'll be walking!!
